“Sea Flower” Handpainted Mermaid Bracelet

seaflowerallviewsred

This beautiful mermaid bracelet was painted on a plain pine wood bracelet using acrylic paints and finished with numerous coats of high gloss varnish.  She is based on my original drawing of a mermaid with an anemone halo and a filigree tail.

I altered the design to fit the width of the wood bracelet.  It took me some time to settle on a colour scheme, and I made many changes over the course of the painting.  The background seaweed and corals also changed as the painting progressed.

The tail was very detailed and time consuming to paint but I’m really happy with how it came together.
